The cover design competition is now closed.
Competition dates: 28 September-12 November 2011
Over 1,100 submissions have been received. We are amazed at the range of ideas, concepts and the huge amount of time and creative energy that has gone into your design proposals.
Thank you!
Your submissions will be judged as follows:
First round
The designs will be judged according to whether they conform to the rules of the competition.
Any designs not conforming to the rules of the competition will be rejected.
Second round
The designs that pass the first round will be judged by a panel composed of:
- A representative of Generation Europe Foundation and
- One or two experts in design & communication.
The panel will judge the covers according to the following criteria:
- Suitability of the submission as a Diary cover aimed at 16-18 year-olds;
- Technical correctness of the submission;
- Artistic & Creative merits of the submissions.
The top three winners will be contacted and asked to confirm in writing that they have respected the rules of the competition:
- Proof that they are a citizen of the European Union (copy of passport or ID card);
- A signed statement that their submission is their own original creation and does not contain copyrighted material;
- A signed statement authorising Generation Europe Foundation, in the event of their design being declared as the winning entry, to modify and use their submission, free of charge, on the cover of the next edition of the Europa Diary, with no limit on the print run.
- Their original graphics files.
If the winner is unreachable, does not provide this information within five working days or provides false information, he/she will be disqualified and the designer of the next highest-voted entry will take his/her place.
The top winner who sends us all of the above and sends us a file with which we can work (created in Photoshop, 300 dpi, not corrupted, separate layers etc.) will be declared the winner of the competition and will receive the prize.
The winning entry will be chosen and presented here by December together with the runner-up entries.
